Robert F. Whalen, Jr.
Robert F. Whalen, Jr. is a Graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served as a Marine Corps Infantry Officer and was deployed twice to the Middle East, once to Iraq and once to Yemen and the overall Persian Gulf Region. He has over fourteen years of commercial real estate development, leasing, and management experience. He has participated in the development, leasing, and management of over one million square feet of retail centers, office buildings, self storage facilities, and multi-family developments. He personally indentified the ground for the Philadelphia Union Soccer Team and participated in the initial programming of the Stadium. Mr. Whalen currently is the general partner of over One Hundred Million Dollars of active real estate investments. Mr. Whalen is the current vice-chairman of the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion Association, the former chairman of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (Philadelphia Committee), the former chairman of the Tredyffrin Township Planning Commission and former member of the Tredyffrin Township Zoning Hearing Board (Chester County, Pennsylvania).
Mr. Whalen has been active in the Oil and Gas Industry and is a Partner at Appalachian Mineral Group, a subsidiary of Marcellus Energy (www.marcellusenergy.com). Mr. Whalen was the driving force in the formation of this firm and the acquisition of mineral assets within the Commonwealth in 2006 and 2007 and disposition in 2011.
Bob lives with his wife, Mistie, and their three daughters in Strafford, Pa.
